But a toddler who sees his first tadpole flashing in a mud puddle feels the same thrill.
Wonder fills his heart, because he has glimpsed for an instant the playfulness of life."
~Michael Jackson
It always amazes me, the wonderment and magic in a child's eyes when receiving a gift. That a handmade gift can still bring immense joy over store bought, computer driven bobbles that the novelty quickly wears from. That, by far, is the best gift of any season!
Today, I received such a gift when the Hub & I delivered several of the "Winter Friends"
Security is heightened, so naturally I called ahead to the school to ensure that I would not have any problems entering with large boxes which were obviously stuffed to the brims. These boxes of fiber sunshine, brightened an overall gloomy and blustery day.
I love watching even the most stoic of teachers' faces change during the holiday! Christmas truly is a magical time of the year... and after several weeks of nearly non-stop and relentless crocheting - being rewarded with a warm smile, a joyful shriek and a few hugs makes it all worth while!
