Wow! Who Knew?!

I can honestly say, that organizing this blog has been not only a chore ... it has been frustrating 'lesson' of what NOT to do ...
and we'll just leave that statement as that ....

There are still a ton of "drafts" - most of which will not be published anytime soon... (once I had several unpublished patterns lost due to "forced updates" creating the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH - I began using this blog to work and there are probably close to 200 drafts still to go through, many of which are patterns that you've never seen..
and many of those are "freebies")

but they do get in the way as I am searching for those that do need to be posted.. oy!!

As many patterns released never got an official plug here on the blog -
(only an intro on FB or Instagram) in addition to losing hundreds of photos due to computers dying a painful, overworked death (I have photos on a flash drive - but unfortunately.. I can't find the drive!!)  .. it's been a challenge to make sure I get everyone up... and wow, I had no idea I had so many patterns...

It's one thing to see a number .. it's another thing to have to manually add them in .. one at a time - lol!!
But we'll get there in the end.

Now.. I've made some changes that should be more helpful to you...
a "Search Option" has been added to the side menu - so you can search for patterns via tags
(clickable tag links in side menu) or by putting keywords directly into the search box (the search box is overly sensitive - I tried a test search of cat.. and any mention of "cat" - even the word category - came up my results)

There have been 'Pages' added to the top menu..
Amigurumi (not viewed/published at the time of this writing) will hold the bulk of Simple Amigurumi Patterns
"Series Patterns" will hold all the series that you love - Pudgy Series, Handful Series, etc

Please let me know if you find any pages that go astray...
And please, let me know if there is anything else that you think may help improve your surfing needs.
This page is set up for computer/web browsing - NOT mobile phones - so please remember that you may have image distortion on the 3rd photo in any row if you are viewing from your phone!

I am taking a break from working on the blog pages - to finish up on the FREE pattern that will be coming out this Friday.. so, If you've read this far... don't forget to check out Friday's post!!

Here's a WIP photo... can you tell who's is who's?
3 amiguruimis.. by 3 different hands..
I have numbered them to help - can guess which one is MINE?

2021 - A New Year

Welcome to a new year and hopefully a better year..
First, let's address the elephant in the room...

WHY am I no longer on social media?
The answer is truly a very simple one - social media can be incredibly toxic!!
My most productive time as a designer was before becoming distracted with everyone else's "drama"... and no, my nature can't just "tune it out"... When it comes to myself (and that is the only one I can speak for) - my desire to 'help' people; curiosity not only killed the cat - it kills the creativity too.

SOOOO.. how are you supposed to see what's new?
Easy - signing up for the eMail so you get a notice when something new is blogged about (patterns, hacks/tips, freebies.. etc) well, at least it's easier than HOPING your Newsfeed will show you an update....

As I try to regain some sort of inspiration and creativity - social media is definitely not my friend.

Better stuff
- The look of this blog - I have been working to update everything, remove old tags, update new tags, make this page more aesthetically pleasing to viewers.. etc
But, for those who've followed me since I started and worry I will make some not so good changes...

1. NO, I will not take on google/blogger ads as a way to generate revenue... so you should still see no advertisements that benefit me on this blog (I cannot speak to what you might see using different Internet Browsers or what Google may add unbeknownst to me.  Even when I do link offsite, I am NOT doing so for any revenue - so you can trust in a recommendation, that it IS truly a recommendation from me to you.)

2. YES, comments will, for now, need to be "approved" before they appear publicly (This is not due to anything negative from readers - this is because of SPAM... when I started cleaning up this blog - there were about 60 comments awaiting approval.. nearly all of them were advertising (spamming) for tree removal services??, 'come check out my website' things - and "hey I love your content, you can get more traffic if you.... advertisements".)

3. There will be a major "publishing content" weekend.  My plan is that it will happen this coming weekend (8 Jan through 10 Jan 2021). It has taken me a little longer than I had anticipated to complete all the "Product Pages" - apologies!
But overall, there are no plans to post more than 2 or 3 times (days) in any given week and that will usually only take place when there is either a Courtesy Pattern, a CAL or a New Pattern's Release.

Best Stuff...
My daughter's debut pattern "Honey the Bear" will be released on Tuesday 5 January 2021!

the Bestest Stuff...
A new Courtesy Pattern from FiberDoodles by K4TT will be posted on 15 January 2021!
(I have 2 patterns I am deciding between at the time of this writing.. if it is the "Cat" one - it will be a single post - if it is the Valentine's Day themed pattern, it will be a C-A-L with all parts placed up over the weekend of the 15th of January.)

So see you soon!

Dinner Invitations... Gone Bad

Thaddeus was so excited when in receiving his first ever invitation to a holiday dinner, that he didn't even think twice about accepting.

That was his first mistake...

Sadly, he was not as much invited TO dinner, as it was his host's intention for him to BECOME dinner.

Luckily for Thaddeus, he is fast on his feet and aside from loosing his beautiful feathers, he escaped physically unscathed.

His trust in humans, however, has suffered serious harm.
The best I could do for now was to try and give him a little dignity (not to mention warmth) and help clothe his naked body until his plumage returns.

Perhaps some of you may wish to do a little more to restore his faith in humanity by inviting him to a real family Thanksgiving Dinner and share with him the warmth of family togetherness.  One that is stuffed with the laughter of friends; and basted in the love of family time - just hide the main course... it may be a friend of his! (and that would be awkward!!)

Thaddeus will out to meet you all later on this week.

Every Little Girl Should Have a Pony of Her Own!

Since I was a little girl, I have always loved horses. For me, they have remained one of the few animals that are part in the magical world as much as in our own real one.
They've carried princesses to safety and princes into battles with dragons and worse.

When I was about 14 years old, I was fortunate to have my very own horse - "Exclusive Peabody", although I never called him by his full name; I just called him Peabody.
He was my very best friend.  I told him all my secrets and imagined he and I would grow old together.
Unfortunately, this was long before cellphones... and I have very few photos of him after all these years... but he was a strong horse, a beautiful horse and the fantastical adventures we took, I still remember fondly today.

Eventually, due to circumstances beyond my control (I was a suburb gal and we boarded our ponies on a farm a few towns away); I eventually had to say goodbye to my sweet boy.
I was broken-hearted!

Every child should have their own pony to share in magical adventures and explorations of fantasy. Whether it's a trip to some far off scary place (like the doctor's office), a casual afternoon in the field (local play park) or a cozy evening in the stable (TV & Bedroom) - Pastiche is ready to share that experience with your young one.

Pastiche is ready to trot her way into your heart and go on many adventures with your little one this summer.
You don't need to stable her. Nor is she a big eater. But she does need plenty of play and imagination and a whole lot of LOVE.

Pastiche the Palomino, is an "Intermediate" pattern due to it's use of Loop Stitches in the mane, legs and tail. This pattern contains 13 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs to help you bring this 22.5 inch friend to life.

Lullaby and Goodnight

Lullaby, and good night, in the skies stars are bright
May the moon, silvery beams, bring you with dreams
Close you eyes, now and rest, may these hours be blessed
Till the sky's bright with dawn, when you wake with a yawn

Lullaby, and good night, you are mother's delight
I'll protect you from harm, and you'll wake in my arms
~ as performed by Jewel/'09 Album Lullaby

Remember when monsters were REAL and things that went bump in the night had fangs and claws? Yeah, it's been a while - now most of the monsters have 2 legs and capped teeth.  But my own childhood, what a glorious time to be a kid, when The Boogieman was just about the only thing a good kid really had to worry about!

It's 1982 and Hasbro made those all those horribles of the night disappear, with the debut of their Glo Worm nightlight toy.
For those who are too young to remember and those who've never heard of a Glo Worm, their little heads were made with a special plastic, that allowed them to glow in the dark. They had a plush body (that encased the battery pack) making the Glo Worm the first nightlight that a child could cuddle with as they fell asleep. Told you it was great to be a little kid in the 80's!

This sweet little bug became a staple in many a child's bedroom and those scary monsters lurking in the dark, were no match for Glo Worm’s glowing cuteness.
Well, they say, all thing come back around, and this little bug was the inspiration behind the newest addition to the FiberDoodles by K4TT Pattern Library.
Introducing Snuggle Bug and Blanket.

This sweet little plush is perfect for your toddler to cuddle with on those stormy nights, when the monsters still lurk outside windows - or while just laying in the light and watching television.
These vivid colors, although not battery powered, are positively charged with smiles and good feelings.
Sold as a set (blanket and bug) or separately (Snuggle Bug single or Snuggle Blanket) this soft little cutie is bound to not only bring back memories, but to help create fond ones as well!

A Halloween Visitor

Every year around this time, spooks and goblins abound.  Children dress up in their Halloween bests in search of treats and a little fellow from another planet comes for a visit.  Mook-E!

Mook-E, after hearing about what a bounty of sweet goodies can be found on the planet Earth from a fellow space traveler (who visited some years ago and was fond of Reeses Pieces) makes the journey each year in search of chocolates, hard sweets and of course, bubble gum.

It's the one night a year, he can waddle along the streets and not cause a ruckus with his odd appearance... although, if you ask him, it is the humans who are the odd ones.

Mook-E is always on the look-out for sweets to share and a friend to share them with.
This year, we were lucky enough to have him pose for a plushie likeness, so that he can stay around all year long - helping the little monsters in our world eat all the treats of Halloween.  Now you can have Mook-E you all year long too!

Mook-E the Monster is a 9 page Written Crochet Pattern with detail oriented photographs and clearly written directions to help you create your own little monster.  When crocheted with materials listed, Mook-E is an impressive 12.5" tall and his Goodie Bag can hold a king-sized candybar.

Mook-E's Monster will be out soon for your little monster to love!

Ready 4 Summer - Roarin' Roland

Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba
(Here comes a lion, Father)
Sithi uhm ingonyama
(Oh yes, it's a lion)
Intro to The Lion King/Circle of Life

and oh yes, it IS a lion!
I love lions.  I have adopted 2!  No, not stuffed animals - but two living, breathing (retired/surrendered) lions :)  Oh come on, that surprises you?

And while not everyone may choose to enjoy the BIG kitties, almost everyone still love the plush ones. Their very name suggests authority and their feline attributes just make them appear just so sweet and cuddly!  I can't help but to be inspired by and in love with these big purr-bags!

and with that, I introduce you to Roland!
He is ready to roar his way into your heart and go on many adventures with your little one this summer - keeping him or her safe from harm: of course.  After all, who wants to tangle with a lion?

Roarin' Roland, the lion cub, is an "Intermediate" pattern due to it's use of Loop Stitches in the mane and tail.  This pattern contains 11 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs to help you bring this 22 inch friend to life.
To complete this pattern, it is expected that you already know how to crochet using single crochet stitches as well as loop stitches.  You should also know how to change colors, crochet in the round, crochet in rows as well as how to crochet in the end of rows.

This adorable little cub can be made as pictured in the model, with the variegated yarn listed in materials  - or get creative with his colorings and use what you already have in your yarn bin, alternating between several colors to give your lion a distinct look all his own!

Roarin Roland was inspired by the life of Roland Hayes

Seriously TOUGH Boss!!

I know I've been extremely quiet over the past month - well since about Thanksgiving...
Many of you already know, this is due to the charity work that I do.  This year, with times being what they are, the amount of requests I have received was so great, that I actually had to turn a few away.  Which truly breaks my heart! But for one (a local animal shelter), I will be doing a charity basket for Valentine's Day.
Next year, I think I may have to start in February/March to insure that I have enough!  It has been many a night since Turkey Day, that I've not gone to bed before 3am; so I am looking forward to Christmas just to be able to relax :)

But none of my 'employers' have been more demanding than a little girl who wanted some dolls for her classmates.  Yes, the people have put in their demands!
Of the 6 dolls I designed, only 4 were approved.
(1 is still pending as we are in dispute over whether or not Gingerbread People have hair!)

I bring to you several of the upcoming releases.
(These dolls are in the final phase with my associates and should be available this weekend.)

Tinsel the Snowkid

Mistletoe the Mutt

Graham the Gingerbread Boy

And Morris the Moose (sorry pdf/photos not together yet - so only seen the group photo below) ...
The smile on the Boss' face says "job well done" and that's all that matters!!
