From Twitch to Rufus

Way back in March of this year, I introduced Twitch to friends and family by sharing him here, flickr and on Ravelry with my readers. I am sure many remember him, as he is kind of hard to forget - and I received quite a bit of comments and mail about him. Some bad, most good.

Including one email that I received from a young lady we'll call "J" from Australia who wanted to know if I had a pattern for him. She went on to tell me that in Australia, squirrels are not as commonly found in the wild as they are here in the US and of how she had really taken to Twitch.

For once, my lackadaisical method of making personal projects and keeping bad notes, was going to prove to be a 'bad thing'. I wrote her and told her that only the 'hands and feet' of Twitch were written out and that .. well.. he was kinda on the fly - an "I-can't-even-make-it-again (exactly the same) if-I-wanted-to" type project.

Naturally, the good mannered folk, Aussies are (I have a few friends from the Land Down Unda) she thanked me and asked if I minded if she tried to recreate Twitch.

OMG.. are you kidding me??
I would love LOVE it!!

I have been inspired by so many wonderful designers over the years. I've blogged about my inspirations - even attempted to mimic inspirational pieces myself..
this was the first time someone had been inspired by ME and I was on CLOUD-9.

Well, it had been awhile, and I hadn't heard from J - but then last week, while I was on holiday with the kids.. we were driving down the road and I was checking my eMail..
there was Rufus...

I squealed with delite and nearly caused the Hub to have a fender bender. I was beaming so much that I just needed to show him off here - as if he was my own...
okay, so he's like a 2nd cousin - but J did such a fabulous job on him, I wanted to display him with his Brother for the World to see!!!

I am still giddy! LOL!!
