Easter Crochet-A-Long

Getting back into the swing of things - and nothing makes that easier than diving in head first and just going full stroke  (I've never been one to just tread water)...

There have been a ton of UFO's sitting around for the past 3 years.  As the hub would often tease, "my laboratory" looked more like a plushie chop shop.  Legs here, Arms there a Body left wherever...
So without further ado... let's do something with all those body parts..
an Easter Something...




What you will need to work this Project:
Red Heart® WW 4-Ply Yarn in a Main Color, a Contrast Color for Eyes/Nose, and 0311 White
poly-fil fiberfill
Size US G6/4.00mm Crochet Hook
Crochet Needle for sewing
Gallon Size Ziplock Bag to store your work

Terms Used in this Pattern:
sc - single crochet
Inc - Increase (2 single crochet stitches in same stitch)
Dec - Decrease (2 single crochet stitches become 1 stitch)
st/sts - stitch(es)
rnd - round
nxt - next
lp/lps - loop(s)


This pattern is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise noted.  Stuff your piece as you work as there are NO “stuff here” indicators present within the pattern instructions.

Leg/Foot  (Make 2) : 
with Main Color,
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st  (6 sts) 
___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [Inc in ea of nxt 3 sts, sc in ea of nxt 3 sts] twice  (18 sts)
___ Rnd 4: sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 5 sts, Inc in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 3 sts  (22 sts)
___ Rnds 5-8: sc in ea st around  (22 sts/ea rnd)
___ Rnd 9: [sc in ea of nxt 9 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] twice  (20 sts)
___ Rnds 10-11: sc in ea st around  (20 sts/ea rnd)
___ Rnd 12: [sc in ea of nxt 8 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] twice  (18 sts)
___ Rnd 13: sc in ea st around  (18 sts)
___ Rnd 14: [sc in ea of nxt 7 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] twice  (16 sts)
___ Rnd 15: sc in ea st around  (16 sts)
___ Rnd 16: [sc in ea of nxt 6 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] twice  (14 sts)
___ Rnd 17: sc in ea st around  (14 sts)
___ Rnd 18: [sc in ea of nxt 5 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] twice  (12 sts)

___ Rnd 20/Row:  sc in ea of nxt 5 sts, squeeze front and back pieces flat together - working through both thicknesses (4 lps total) sc across, closing the opening for a count of 5 sc.
Finish off.  Secure and weave in tail to hide.   Set aside, until both legs are worked.  Body cannot be worked until legs are complete.


(Rnd 20/Row - squeeze front  and back pieces together - pushing through BOTH sides)

(Rnd 20/Row - complete single crochet as usual)


(Rnd 20/Row - work across all stitches to end - creating 5 single crochet in a straight row
instead of 10 stitches as an open round)

Arm (Make 2) : 
with Main Color,

___ Rnds 5-7: sc in ea st around  (16 sts/ea rnd)

Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Arm to Body.
