Courtesy Pattern : CP57 - 12 Days of Christmas 2018

Baking Christmas Cookies has long been a holiday tradition for me. When the Hub was working, I would send between 20 & 25 dozen cookies, cakes and candies in a giant giftbox for the 'lineboys'...
but one item I can't recall ever making were Gingerbread Men...  oh, I've made sugar cookies in the shape of a Gingerbread Man... but never a gingerbread cookie...

at least not edible.. hee hee!


Gingerbread Man Pillow

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner/Easy
Measurements:  16 inches tall (approx.) 
Gauge :  8 rows of 7 single crochet = 2 inches/squared
Yardage :  Main Color: less than 7oz/364yds, Accent Colors: less than 7oz/364yds


General Notes:
- This pattern is worked in both rows and continuous rounds, please be sure to notice the differences within the instructions.
- I do not utilize a turning chain while crocheting single crochet rows.  If you utilize a chaining turn, this will count as your first st.
- This pattern utilizes standard US Crochet Terms.
- Any changes in materials to this pattern, (hook size/yarn weight) may not produce the measurements above.

Pause!  With White, using either surface stitches or slip stitches, edge your front piece of your Gingerbread Man.
Repeat Rows 1 through 78 again, then before finishing off, place wrong sides together of both pieces (that side which you have weaved all your tail in), lining up your stitches, and single crochet both sections together.  Working all the way around and stuffing as you go.



Eye:  (Make 2)
with Coffee,

___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st  (6 sts)
___ Rnd 2: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st] twice  (8 sts)
___ Rnd 3: sc in ea st around  (8 sts)
___ Rnd 4: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] twice  (6 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to weave through the front loops on Rnd 4 to close opening so that no stuffing can escape and secure Eye to Head.


Bow:  (Make 1)
with Tealeaf,

Chain 12,
___ Rnd 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea of nxt 9 sts, 3 sc in end ch st - turn piece to allow you to work up the other side of original beg chain (as if a flat round), sc in ea of nxt 9 sts, Inc in last st. (24 sts)
___ Rnd 2: [3 sc in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 9 sts, 3 sc in nxt st, sc in nxt st] twice  (32 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [(sc, hdc) in nxt st, (2 DC, TC, 2 DC) in nxt st, (hdc, sc) in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, slst in ea of nxt 5 sts, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, (sc, hdc) in nxt st, (2 DC, TC, 2 DC) in nxt st, (hdc, sc) in nxt st, sc in nxt st] twice  (56 sts)

with Cherry Red,

___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 8 sc in st  (8 sts)
___ Rnd 2: in BLO, slst in ea st around  (8 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure your Gumdrop Buttons down center of Body.
