The Process Behind the Name

 

After much deliberation, and a major argument between the people over who had the better name - of course, I foolishly mentioned that one of the names got a positive comment... yesh, I know.. will I ever learn?!  Probably not...

Originally, I was going to name him Smile the Sunflower, as that is what he makes me do.. but it just wasn't fitting properly... as it is more of a request or a command than a name.

But as I was writing up the pattern, a "6 degrees of separation" moment happened...

Well, it was more like a 3 degrees .. but, here goes..

One of Michael's most beloved songs was the song Smile.  He recorded it himself some time ago, but it was written by a man who was all about the smiles, Mr. Charlie Chaplin.  I was humming it to myself while steadily typing away...

Well, this cute little guy doesn't quite look like a Charlie or even a Charles .. so I teetered with the idea of Chaplin as his name - still didn't fit.

Now while all this mental dilemma is working out in my head, amidst the humming of  'Smile', I remembered that back in the late 70's, Michael himself has dressed like Charlie Chaplin.  So I did a google search to see if that would give me more inspiration for a name..

BAM!  There it was..

Spencer.. Charlie Chaplin's middle name :)

To Honor Him..

or as a Birthday gift to myself.. either, either, or..

I halted all previous ideas and works to prepare for a very dear upcoming birthday.. undecided what exactly I want to do with the pattern (free or sale) and if for sale - what to do with the proceeds.

I am attempting to make 12 (1 dozen) of these sunflowers which are HUGE as you can tell - yes, that is a 12 inch ruler at the top of the flower, and yes, that is a full sized DVD case under it - to be delivered to the Forest Lawn Mausoleum before Michael's birthday this year.

Each Sunflower is almost 2.5 ft high and as you can see, almost a ft wide.

A massive symbol of love and sunshine for a public figure who represented the best of BOTH.

I am also working on a smaller Sunflower Amigurumi doll, which will definitely be a freebie here on the blog.

Keep watching, as soon as the doll is done, I will post it's pattern as well as a photo.

Ps -  I've gotten the messages regarding my icon at the top of the right-hand column.  No, I am not part of any 'Hoax Community'.  It sways me in no way IF or IF not Mike hoaxed his own death... his message to the world, rings true until there is peace on Earth and we stop abusing our planet.

The message with the icon is simply, "believe in LOVE" - painful lies have been cast out.

Two Horses

There is a place in the countryside with a field that has two horses in it.

From a distance these two horses looks just like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by; you will notice something quite amazing....

Looking into the eyes of one horse, you will discover that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down; but has, instead, made a good home for him.
This alone is amazing.
And if you stand nearby and just listen, you will hear the sound of a bell.  Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the other horse in the field.

Attached to the 2nd horse's halter is a small bell.  Nothing fancy or glamorous, just a simple bell that lets the blind friend know where the other horse is; so he can follow.

As you watch these two friends, you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse; and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening; it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owner of these two horses, life does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.
We are watched over and very often have others brought into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse, being guided by the little ringing bell of those who are placed in our lives.

Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way....
Good friends are like that. You may not always see them, but you know they are always there.

L. is for the way you LOOK at me

O. is for the ONLY ONE I see

V. is very VERY EXTRAORDINARY

E. is EVEN MORE than anyone that you adore... and

LOVE is all that I can give to you - 
LOVE is more than just a game for two
