Heifer! Heifer! Heifer!!

Believe it or not, there are quite a few Pillow Pals that I didn't think there would ever be interest in.  Previously, I had introduced the Pillow Pal Pig and many squealed with delight...

so it's only appropriate to release yet another 'farm favorite', who has been sitting quietly chewing it's cud in my "patterns" folder... or perhaps, just because "heifer" is such a fun word to say!...

Some may find me a bit odd, but one of the smells I remember fondly from childhood was the pastures where the cows grazed and watched the world go by.  Well, maybe not the cow patties in the pasture, but the smells associated with the whole farm setting and watching these beautiful creatures wander around in it. They also have the cutest (big) mouths, which from my recollection, seemed to be stained more often than not -  green.

The Pillow Pal Cow, contains 9 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs to help you bring this 16 inch friend to life.
To complete this pattern, it is expected that you already know crochet basics such as how to chain, crochet using slip stitches as well as single crochet stitches and how to change yarn colors. You should also know how to crochet in the round, crochet in rows, crochet using a “chain start”, crochet an opening closed, how to increase and decrease crochet stitches as well as how to make use of Back and/or Front Loops Only.

Labor Day & Back 2 School

Wow!  Really?  The Summer is over already?   But I got nothing done!!

Well, okay, so that is not entirely true.  It's been very busy for me here on the home front. One child going off to Middle School and the youngest entering into the 6th Grade!
But truth be told, I am not a "Summer Person".. I have learned the older I get, the more I dislike the 3 H's of Summer (Hazy, Hot & Humid)  -  it's all fine and dandy if your a kid and enjoy playing in the pool all day..
but I am an artist - either by paper (which gets all wet n nasty in the humidity) or by fiber (which sticks to your sweaty fingers)...
so I am looking forward to Fall and of course, Winter!

There have been a FEW patterns released over the Summer Months.. I will post individual sales pages this week for the ones that I missed..
but just in case you missed them  (and can't wait for me to post them here) :

There was the KISS Series Unicorn:

Special Pig

The Pillow Pal Piggy has been sitting in a folder on my computer, just waiting for someone to think he was a Special Pig...

Pigs have long been associated with being messy.. over indulgent and ... well, not always the best when it comes to pets - despite such famous pigs as Wilbur from Charlotte's Web fame.
Although, from personal experience, I can tell you all of the stereotypes about pigs are FALSE.... these creatures are highly intelligent, very fastidious and genuinely affectionate to their human pets.

So it was one of those patterns which I figured would be in my private collection and used when family or friends requested a piggy to cuddle with.  Imagine my surprise when I had clients and blog readers ask if I was going to make a Pillow Pal Pig!  I am proud to introduce you to the Pillow Pal Piggy - ready to squeal his way into your heart.

The 7th in the  Pillow Pal line,
contains 8 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs to help you bring this 16 inch friend to life.

Pillow Pal Triceratops

Next to Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Triceratops is the most recognizable animal from the dinosaur era.

This sweet little Tri loves to watch cartoons in the morning and whole grain cereals with his tiny human friend.  His favorite, so I am told, is Honey Nut Cheerios!

The Triceratops Pillow Pal was requested by a very special little man who is battling Burkitt Lymphoma,  a bi-product of Children's HIV.  An estimated 2.5 million children around the world are living with HIV/AIDs, according to the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (JNAIDS) "2010 Report on the Global AIDS Epidemic."
The 6th Little Pillow Pal pattern, Triceratops, contains 9 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs to help you bring this 16 inch friend to life.
To complete this pattern, it is expected that you already know how to crochet using slip stitches, single crochet stitches, half double crochet stitches, as well as double crochet stitches. You should also know how to crochet in the round, crochet in rows, crochet using a “chain start”, crochet an opening closed as well as how to increase and decrease crochet stitches.

Gearing Up for a Sleigh Ride

A newest pillow pal hit the shops on Tuesday - the Pillow Pal Reindeer.  In my haste and anticipating client's desires to work quickly to get this little cutie done and ready before Christmas morning - it was made available instantly for "Instant Downloads" and this announcement post was postponed. (I literally walked out of the door 2 minutes after putting the listings up, knowing I would not return until several hours later.)

As hard as I tried, I could not capture, in photographs, just how magical this little pillow pal was!  I say "was", because he's already left for his own little magical sleigh ride across the sky to a little boy in Bonner County, Idaho who is recovering from surgery.

Welcome the 5th in the Pillow Pal line - A Pillow Pal Reindeer (complete with non-jingling jingle bells)

A Pillow Pal Reindeer contains 10 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs (including a photo tutorials for the belly) and instructions to help you bring this happy, 17 inch plush friend together in time for Christmas.  One client was able to boast she made her pillow pal in about 6 hours time!

Purchase your copy of this adorable sweet little Santa's helper today and have him ready for the sleigh in no time.  A perfect gift for Baby's First Christmas, an older sibling or anyone who enjoys cuddling with a soft pillow while relaxing.
