Thaddeus was so excited when he received his first ever invitation to a holiday dinner that he didn't even think twice about accepting.
That was his first mistake...
Sadly, he was not as much invited TO dinner, as in was his host's intention for him to BECOME dinner.
Luckily for Thaddeus, he is fast on his feet and aside from loosing his beautiful feathers, he escaped physically unscathed.
His trust in humans, however, has suffered serious harm. The best I could do for now was to try and give him a little dignity (not to mention warmth) and help clothe his naked body until his plumage returns.
Perhaps some of you may wish to do a little more by inviting him to a real Thanksgiving Dinner and the warmth of family togetherness, stuffed with the laughter of friends; can show him the bounties of the holiday season.
Thaddeus will be on his way later on this week.

A Fall Favorite
Nothing says Fall like Candy Corn..
The minute you see them in the store, your mind is triggered to think of Halloween and Thanksgiving - cool Autumn nights and the crunch of red and orange leaves under your feet..
it's one of the most comforting sounds in the world to me!
And although I have never had a fondness for this particular sugary treat, at this time of the year, you can always find a candy dish full of them. Decoration? My guests don't think so.. they love them!
and I am hoping that you love this sweet little cutie just as much!
Whoa.. wait.. Did I say 'little'?
He's actually a FOOT and a HALF tall.. that's not so little in the plushie world. But he is very fast to work up and melt in your arms squishy!!
In classic Candy Corn colors, or you can use your own fall color scheme to create this iconic symbol of the Fall Season. As a decoration for Halloween or as a Friend to pal around with watching Halloween Themed Cartoons - CD is bound to make quite an impression.
The CD Corn Plushie contains 9 pages of written instruction, coupled with detail oriented photographs and helpful tutorials to help you create and enjoy this unique playmate.
To complete this pattern, it is expected that you already know crochet basics such as how to chain, crochet using slip stitches as well as single crochet stitches and how to change yarn colors. You should also know how to crochet in the round, crochet in rows, crochet using a “chain start”, crochet an opening closed, how to increase and decrease crochet stitches as well as how to make use of Back and/or Front Loops Only.

A Turkey's Lament
When I was a young turkey and new to the coop,
My big brother Mike took me out on the stoop.
He then sat me down, while he spoke really slow,
and told me there were somethings that I just had to know;
His look and his tone I will always remember,
When he spoke of the horrors of . . . "Black November".
"Come about August, now listen to me,
you'll be feed several times daily, instead of just three.
you'll be feed several times daily, instead of just three.
Each day you'll get thicker, where once you were thin,
and you'll grow a big rubbery thing under your chin.
Then one morning, when you're all warm in your bed,
the farmer's wife will burst in and she'll hack off your head!
She'll pluck out your feathers so you're bald and raw pink,
and scoop out all your insides, staight into the sink!
But then comes the worst part" he said not bluffing,
"She'll spread your cheeks and pack your rear-end with stuffing!"
Well, the rest of his words, I find too grim to repeat,
so, I sat on the stoop, like a winged piece of meat.
That's when I decided to avoid being cooked,
I would have to lay low and remain overlooked.
I began a new diet of nuts and granola,
High-roughage salads, juice and diet cola.
As the rest of the birds ate pastries, chocolates and crepes,
I stayed in my room working out to Jane Fonda tapes.
I maintained my weight of two pounds and a half,
and tried not to notice when the bigger birds laughed.
But it was I who was laughing, although under my breath,
as they chomped and they chewed, ever closer to death.
And sure enough when Black November rolled around,
I was the last turkey left in the entire compound.
So now I'm a pet in the farmer's wife's lap;
I haven't a worry, so I eat and I nap.
She held me today, while sewing and humming,
and smiled at me and said "Christmas is coming........"
This young Tom is one Turkey you don't have to feel guilty about sitting on the Thanksgiving Day table.
He is available for your crocheting pleasure at FiberDoodles by K4TT on etsy. Just like the rest of the KISS Series, the KISS Turkey is crocheted using the simplest of stitches and techniques to create a one of a kind treat for the little ones in your family. Model was approximately 12 inches in height and about 7 inches in width.
Pattern contains 2 visual aides (tutorials) for both the feet and wings.

There will be a new face coming to etsy this weekend..
I caught glimpses of him out in the wooded area today, mere days before his arrival at the FiberDoodles by K4TT etsy storefront and was able to snap these quick photographs.
