Are you a Hou?

Hou is the Chinese word for Monkey.
The monkey is a very clever animal and is usually compared to a smart person.  The monkey ranks 9th of the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac.

Each year is related to an animal sign according to a 12-year-cycle and this year, 2016, is the Year of the Monkey.  So FiberDoodles by K4TT brings you a Monkey to crochet for your own.  Marcelo the Monkey will be available for purchase 09 January 2016 on etsy.com.

Years of the Monkey: 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, and 2028.

Those born under the Chinese Zodiac of the Monkey are thought of as being clever, enthusiastic, self-assured, innovative, and intelligent, especially in their career and with their money.  They are also quite mischievous and known to be pranksters.
They are lively, quick-witted and flexible. Their gentleness and honesty is thought to bring them an everlasting love life.
However, Monkeys still have a few, hard to miss, shortcomings. Monkeys are known for their impulsive temper, jealousy, arrogance and highbrow tendencies, which can prove a real challenge to any relationship they may have.

Some other Monkey Facts:
Lucky Colors: White, Blue, Gold
Lucky Numbers: 1, 7 and 8
Lucky Flowers: Chrysanthemum and the Crape Myrtle

Other famous Monkeys: Leonardo da Vinci, Charles Dickens, Celine Dion, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Halle Berry, Christina Aguilera, Diana Ross, Elizabeth Taylor,Michael Douglas, Owen Wilson, Mick Jagger, Julius Caesar, Bette Davis, Annie Oakley, Eleanor Roosevelt, Betsy Ross, Cuba Gooding Jr., Patricia Arquette, Christina Ricci, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez

Newest in the KISS Series - Sock Monkey

Or S'Monkey as I call him.

I've never been fond of the whole 'sock monkey' craze, but several friends seem to find this creation the cutest thing going.  I was asked to create a Sock Monkey KISS for a Valentine's Day gift for a friend's husband..

S'Monkey is in testing currently, but will be available soon in my etsy shop.
