Ready 4 Summer - Roarin' Roland

and oh yes, it IS a lion!
I love lions.  I have adopted 2!  No, not stuffed animals - but two living, breathing (retired/surrendered) lions :)  Oh come on, that surprises you?

And while not everyone may choose to enjoy the BIG kitties, almost everyone still love the plush ones.  Their very name suggests authority and their feline attributes just make them appear just so sweet and cuddly!  I can't help but to be inspired by and in love with these big purr-bags!

and with that, I introduce you to Roland!

He is ready to roar his way into your heart and go on many adventures with your little one this summer - keeping him or her safe from harm: of course.  After all, who wants to tangle with a lion?
Roarin' Roland, the lion cub, is an "Intermediate" pattern due to it's use of Loop Stitches in the mane and tail.  This pattern contains 11 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs to help you bring this 22 inch friend to life.
To complete this pattern, it is expected that you already know how to crochet using single crochet stitches as well as loop stitches.  You should also know how to change colors, crochet in the round, crochet in rows as well as how to crochet in the end of rows.

This adorable little cub can be made as pictured in the model, with the variegated yarn listed in materials  - or get creative with his colorings and use what you already have in your yarn bin, alternating between several colors to give your lion a distinct look all his own!

Migraine - Shmigraine

A headache isn't a headache when it's a migraine - but today was much better than the past few days so I was able to get much done!  (Not that it means much in the crochet world, but the house got decorated today for the holidays!!)

A glimpse into tomorrow..
the Pillow Pal Reindeer will be offered up for sale for your crocheting pleasure tomorrow afternoon.
And later this week- another Handful and a NEW KISS for the holiday season!

I do have quite a few more on the way, including some "gosyo/Pierrot Yarns" inspired amigurumis; which the youngest people told me, "if she didn't have to hand out for her classmates, she would just DIE!!" after seeing a photo on one of my adventures around "Ravelry.com"  (Actually I was commenting on a doodle that a client made, who had also made the freebie bear and my daughter fell in love with THAT!)

and of course, another Kitty (or should I say "Bad Kitty") treat that I regularly make for shelters and feline gift-giving.

Handful of Kitten

The 11th in the Handful Series is a little late in her introduction.

This sweet little Kitty has been waiting for her time to shine.  And now is perfect, since I am currently working so hard on charity works to benefit many of her furry counterparts in the real world.

Each year, thousands of kitties are searching for their forever homes to spend the holidays in.  This little kitty would love to spend the holidays with you and your family!  She'd be purrfect peeking from a stocking on Christmas morning or even playing within a bow on the top of a package.

The Handful Series was designed to give you the absolute freedom to customize as you wish - creating your very own personalized handmade and heartfelt gift.  Color changes (or lack there of)is completely at purchaser’s discretion. The use of embroidery techniques or purchased plastic additions may be employed to finish your doodle.  Basically - There is NO right or wrong way to make your doodle.

A Handful of Kitten contains 8 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs and instructions to help you bring this happy, 8 inch little friend together.

Santa Baby..

Santa Baby, slip some catnip under the tree, for me..
I've been an awfully good girl.
Santa Baby, just hurry down the chimney tonight...

Santa Baby, a can of cat food or two, will do
I'll wait up for you dear
Santa Baby, just hurry down the chimney tonight...

Think of all the fun, I've missed
scurrying critters but still I didn't hiss.
It's been so hard, to be this sweet
Don't I deserve a little kitty treat?

Santa honey, there's one more thing I really do need - indeed..
someone who'll really love me a-lot
So Santa Baby, just hurry down the chimney tonight!

Anyone who has followed the FiberDoodles blog for any length of time, knows my devotion to the 4-legged friends, especially those of the feline purr-suasion.    Every year, I devote a vast amount of time to fulfilling the needs of the feline friends around me.  This year, I thought I would share one of those treats with you.

This little "Santa Paw" would be a blessing, filled with some feline treats for any shelter who's crates and cages are over-flowing with purr-sonality.  These stockings work up very quickly and can be made in 3 different styles - instructions are provided for 2 (the LpSt and Ruffle), but you could always just use single crochet in White to finish off the cuff.

Shelter Kitties don't need fancy to satisfy them - just love!
Open your heart to a Shelter Kitty today and make a few "Santa Paws" ... and if you have some time left over, you can make some Santa Paws for the 4-legged furr-balls in your life :)

A Rockin, Roarin' Little Handful

Perhaps I was moderately influenced by one of my "sister designers" love of Aerosmith front-man, Steven Tyler...
but when I created the latest Little Handful, I couldn't help but to think of Mr. Aerosmith and those wild, multicolored locks.

It certainly didn't hurt that I had just shared with her, a recent photo of Steven - taken last summer when the 'patron' became part of the show and saved this town's Heritage Days Festival festivities ..
Yup, once again, the RAIN decided to attempt to spoil a good time.

Introducing Handful of Lion.  Just as wild as Rock and Roll and ferociously lovable!  This little handful is bound to be King of the Toybox!  Intimidated by LoopStiches?  You can enjoy making an adorable little Lion Cub by following the directions and some omitting!

A Handful of Lion is the 3rd in the line of quick projects.
Ready in just hours, these cute little handfuls make the perfect gift for any occasion and as always; designed to give you the absolute freedom to customize as you wish - creating your very own personalized handmade and heartfelt gift.

A Handful of Lion contains 8 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs and instructions to help you bring this majestic, 8 inch little Lion together.

Sneeze the Siamese

Poor Sneeze.  She, like I, suffer greatly from seasonal allergies; but can't seem to resist the warm summer breezes and watching all of nature's beauty outdoors.
We often sit for hours just watching the birds, the squirrels and whatever else decides to show up during our morning coffee...

Today, however, was slightly more interactive.  Sneeze made a new friend and spent the morning chasing this little Cabbage butterfly.  Sneeze was hoping that you'd like to also be friends with her and perhaps she can play with many more butterflies in your garden.

Sneeze the Siamese will be available soon in the shop for your crocheting enjoyment.
