Don't Worry - 'Bout a Thing

I love me some Bob Marley.
And many times when I hook, I do listen to songs - which usually means, I don't get much done because I am too busy singing along ... and not busy enough counting my place.  *grin*

But in the middle of working on another project, I was listening to Bob Marley's Three Little Birds and became inspired ...

Rise up this mornin'
Smiled with the risin' sun
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Saying', (this is my message to you)

I hope you enjoy - the first little bird "Bits the Bluebird"

Special Delivery, Brought to You by Sammy

The Hub had grown increasingly suspicious of me as of late...  I guess it is to be expected when more and more infant items are seen in an otherwise, infant free home.  The latest, prompted the question...
"Umm.. Honey, are you trying to tell me something?"

I'm not, but perhaps Sammy is.

I'm kidding.  The days of surprising the Hub with announcements of our growing family are long done. Well, except for perhaps, the 4-legged variety.
But that has not stopped my love for 'all things baby'; after all, there are plenty of friends and family who are still adding to their numbers.

Sammy the  Stork was created just for that purpose.  What a glorious bird to sit atop a table - what a conversation piece - what a memory.  Sammy is the sort of baby shower gift that will deliver your message of pride and excitement at any Mom's party! Sammy is happy to carry your private message, gift card(s) or cash inside his Messenger Bag or just stand/sit as a table display to bask in all the love of such a monumental occasion.

Sammy the Stork makes a huge impression!  Standing at almost 2 feet tall he would! (approximately 16" in sitting position).   Say congratulations in a BIG way!

This pattern contains 18 pages of written instruction and detail oriented photographs and tutorials to help you create your own Sammy the Stork Plush and is labeled as "Intermediate". To complete this pattern, it is expected that you already know crochet basics such as how to chain, crochet using single crochet stitches, double crochet stitches, treble crochet stitches and how to change yarn colors. You should also know how to crochet in the round, crochet in rows, crochet using a “chain start”, crochet an opening closed, how to increase and decrease crochet stitches as well as how to make use of Back and/or Front Loops Only.

Introducing: Swoops the Seagull

When I was a young girl, I remember one of the most fun things to do at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland was to go get a cup of Thrasher's French Fries (on the boardwalk) and munch away as you strolled down to the beach.  Going to 'the beach' was a vacation in itself - I lived a good 2.5 hrs from the ocean... and it was always a treat to go.

but one of the best memories of the beach, being that I had already seen JAWS about 200 times and was terrified of the ocean, was taking my cup of fries down to the beach and watching the drifting seagulls, that would float effortlessly just feet above me -  gulls that loved those salty-vinegar touched treats just as much as I did.

As a young child, this was so exciting.  It wasn't until I moved, many years later, that I discovered just how special those O.C. Gulls were (or how big!).
In Ocean City, Maryland.. if you tossed a Thrasher's Fry into the air.. it would NEVER hit the ground.  There was always a gull waiting to grab that delectable morsel in mid air, sometimes just barely missing the ground for his efforts to ensure the prize.

Here in MA, not so much.  Living close to the beach, there is much more opportunity to interact with gulls... but here, they scavenge for food.. and wait for food it to hit the ground and for you to back away, before shyly retrieving their snack...  a real bunch of scaredy birds.  The gulls of Ocean City Marylad will forever hold a special summer fondness for me and it is those gulls which Swoops received his name.
Swoops the Seagull, contains 10 pages of pattern instructions, with detail oriented photographs to help you bring this 15 inch  tall friend to life.
To complete this pattern, it is expected that you already know crochet basics such as how to chain, crochet using slip stitches as well as single crochet stitches and how to change yarn colors. You should also know how to crochet in the round, crochet in rows, crochet using a “chain start”, crochet an opening closed, how to increase and decrease crochet stitches as well as how to make use of Back and/or Front Loops Only.

Labor Day & Back 2 School

Wow!  Really?  The Summer is over already?   But I got nothing done!!

Well, okay, so that is not entirely true.  It's been very busy for me here on the home front. One child going off to Middle School and the youngest entering into the 6th Grade!
But truth be told, I am not a "Summer Person".. I have learned the older I get, the more I dislike the 3 H's of Summer (Hazy, Hot & Humid)  -  it's all fine and dandy if your a kid and enjoy playing in the pool all day..
but I am an artist - either by paper (which gets all wet n nasty in the humidity) or by fiber (which sticks to your sweaty fingers)...
so I am looking forward to Fall and of course, Winter!

There have been a FEW patterns released over the Summer Months.. I will post individual sales pages this week for the ones that I missed..
but just in case you missed them  (and can't wait for me to post them here) :

There was the KISS Series Unicorn:

and don't forget ... I will be having a "Giveaway" next month, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners... total retail value of over $50.00USD in prizes
