Winter is Winter is Winter.. and it just wouldn't be Winter without a cheerful little snowflake!
For my daughter - in her favorite colors ..

Snowflake Tech Bag

Skill Level: Easy / Advanced Beginner
Measurements 12.5 inches tall/ 8.5 inches wide (approx.) 
Gauge :  12 rows of 12 single crochet = 3 inches/squared (H Hook)
Yardage :  Main Color: less than 7oz/364yrds, Accent Colors: less than 4oz/202yrds

General Notes:
- This pattern is worked in continuous spiral rounds unless otherwise noted.
- This pattern utilizes standard US Crochet Terms.
- Any changes in materials to this pattern, (hook size/yarn weight) will not produce the measurements above.- This pattern is sized to the Lenovo Chromebook commonly used in public schools.  You can alter the size of your storage cover by adding stitches to the beginning chain, however your end count will change from that listed below.  If adjusting size: allow approximately .5 inch overhang on beg ch to account for width of electronics to be fitted inside.
- This pattern utilizes Reverse Single Crochet Stitches (reverse sc) to create a finishing border.  You can find a tutorial on how to make Reverse Single Crochet Stitches here: Moogly: Crab Stitch Video
- Recommended that you insert a piece of cardboard inside your bag while attaching details of Bag, so that you do not accidentally sew back and front of bag together while decorating.

Red Heart® WW 4-Ply Yarn in 0347 Light Periwinkle, 0672 Light Grey, 0528 Medium Purple and 0311 White
Size US H/8-5.00mm Crochet Hook 
Size G/6-4.00mm Crochet Hook (US)
Filling for Plushies (fiberfil or similar) 
Tapestry/Yarn Needle for sewing 
Long Straight Pins for positioning
2 - 1&1/8th inch(28mm) White Buttons

Bag:  (Make 1)
with Size H Hook & Light Periwinkle, 
Chain 30,
___ Rnd 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea of nxt 27 sts, 3 sc in end ch st - rotate piece to allow you to work up the other side of original beg chain (as if a flat round), sc in ea of nxt 27 sts, Inc in last st  (60 sts)
___ Rnds 2-4: sc in ea st around, changing to Light Grey on lst st of Rnd 4  (60 sts/ea rnd)

with Light Grey, 
___ Rnds 5-6: sc in ea st around, changing to Medium Purple on lst st of Rnd 6  (60 sts/ea rnd)

with Medium Purple,
___ Rnds 7-12: sc in ea st around, changing to Light Grey on lst st of Rnd 12  (60 sts/ea rnd)

with Light Grey,
___ Rnd 13: sc in ea st around, changing to Light Periwinkle on lst st  (60 sts)

with Light Periwinkle,

Snowflake:  (Make 1)

with Size H Hook & White, 
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st  (6 sts)
___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [sc in nxt st, Inc in nxt st] 6 times (18 sts)
___ Rnd 4: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times (24 sts)
___ Rnd 5: [sc in ea of nxt 3 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times (30 sts)
___ Rnd 6: [sc in ea of nxt 4 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (36 sts)
___ Rnd 7: [(hdc, DC, ch-6, slst into top of DC, hdc) in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 3 sts] 6 times  (6 ch-6 loops/ 30 sts)
___ Rnd 8: sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, {8 sc in ch-6 loop, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, (Inc, ch-4, slst in top of 2nd sc made, sc) in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 3 sts} 5 times, 8 sc in ch-6 loop, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, (Inc, ch-4, slst in top of 2nd sc made, sc) in nxt st, sc in nxt st
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Snowflake to Bag.


Head/Face:  (Make 1)

with Size H Hook & White, 
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st  (6 sts)
___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [sc in nxt st, Inc in nxt st] 6 times (18 sts)
___ Rnd 4: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times (24 sts)
___ Rnd 5: [sc in ea of nxt 3 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times (30 sts)
___ Rnds 6-8: sc in ea st around  (30 sts/ea rnd)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Head to center of Snowflake.



Eyeball:  (Make 2)

with Size G Hook & Light Grey, 
Chain 4,
___ Rnd 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in nxt ch, 3 sc in end ch st - rotate piece to allow you to work up the other side of original beg chain (as if a flat round), sc in nxt st, Inc in last st  (8 sts)
___ Rnd 2: (Inc in nxt st, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts) twice, Inc in ea of nxt 2 sts  (12 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Eyeball to Head.



Pupil:  (Make 2)

with Size G Hook & Black, 
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st  (6 sts)
___ Rnd 2: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st] twice  (8 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Pupil to Eyeball.
With White, add a point of light to each Pupil.



Eyelid:  (Make 1)
with Size G Hook & White, 
Chain 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in nxt ch, hdc in ea of nxt 4 chs, sc in nxt ch, slst in nxt ch, sc in nxt ch, hdc in ea of nxt 4 chs, sc in ea of nxt 2 chs  (15 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Eyelid above and around eyes.



Nose:  (Make 1)

with Size G Hook & Light Periwinkle, 
Chain 4,
___ Rnd 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in nxt ch, 3 sc in end ch st - rotate piece to allow you to work up the other side of original beg chain (as if a flat round), sc in nxt st, Inc in last st  (8 sts)
___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st, sc in nxt st] 4 times  (12 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Nose to Head.



Button Loops:  (Make 2)
with Size H Hook & Medium Purple, 
Chain 12, slst into 12th ch from hook and finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Button Loops to the inside of the back flap of Bag.
Secure your White Buttons to front of Bag, lining up your Buttons so that they can be easily clasped by your loops; to keep Tech inside the Bag.


with Black, add a mouth.
Optional: with White create smaller snowflakes (x's) around the large center Snowflake.
