Courtesy Pattern : CP28 - I Scream - You Scream...

WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

Ice Cream is an all time childhood favorite of Summer Time! and here in New England, it's feeling a whole lot like summertime already!


Triple Dip Ice Cream Cone

Materials :
Red Heart® Classic® WW 4-Ply Yarn in Color(s) of Choice  

- model uses 0365 Coffee (fudge drizzle), 0336 Warm Brown (chocolate), 0316 Soft White (vanilla), 0774 Light Raspberry (strawberry), 0330 Linen (cone), 0334 Cherry Red (Cherry), 0672 Spring Green (Cherry Stem), 0512 Turqua - 0722 Pretty n’ Pink and Soft White (sprinkles)
Size G/6-4.25mm Crochet Hook (US)
Filling for Plushies (fiberfil or similar)
Yarn Needle for Sewing
Long Straight Pins for Positioning

~ Crocheted with materials listed, models which have been produced are approximately 13.5 inches tall.  However, depending on your crochet style, this measurement may/will vary. Gauge is NOT critical in the completion of this project. ~


Ice Cream/Bottom Scoop:  (Make 1) 
with Ice Cream Color,
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st (6 sts)

___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [sc in nxt st, Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (18 sts)
___ Rnd 4: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (24 sts)
___ Rnd 5: [sc in ea of nxt 3 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (30 sts)
___ Rnd 6: [sc in ea of nxt 4 sts, Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (36 sts)
___ Rnd 7: sc in ea st around  (36 sts)
___ Rnd 8: [sc in ea of nxt 11 sts, Inc in nxt st] 3 times  (39 sts)
___ Rnd 9: sc in ea st around  (39 sts)
___ Rnd 10: [sc in ea of nxt 12 sts, Inc in nxt st] 3 times  (42 sts)
___ Rnds 11-15: sc in ea st around  (42 sts/ea rnd)
___ Rnd 16: [sc in ea of nxt 5 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 6 times  (36 sts)
___ Rnd 17: [sc in ea of nxt 4 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 6 times  (30 sts)
___ Rnd 18: in BLO, sc in ea st around  (30 sts)
___ Rnd 19: [sc in ea of nxt 3 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 6 times  (24 sts)
___ Rnd 20: [Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 12 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 21: [Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 6 times  (6 sts)

Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to weave through the front loops of Rnd 21 to close opening so no stuffing can escape.  Secure and weave in tail to hide.


Ice Cream/Middle Scoop:  (Make 1) 
with Ice Cream Color,
Repeat Rnds 1 through17 of Bottom Scoop
___ Rnd 18: in BLO, [sc in ea of nxt 3 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 6 times  (24 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Middle Scoop to Bottom Scoop.



Finishing: with same color, Join with slst in any unworked loop - [ch-3, 4TRC in same st,  drop loop from hook, pick pick up 3rd ch from beg-ch3, pick up dropped loop and draw through first loop (like a slst), slst in nxt unworked loop, slst in nxt unworked loop, 4DC in nxt st, drop loop on hook, pick up first loop, grab last loop, (slst in nxt st ch-3, slst in 3rd ch from hook) 3 times ] repeat around or create your own pattern.
Finish off.  Secure and weave in tail to hide.



Ice Cream/Top Scoop:  (Make 1) 
with Ice Cream Color,
Repeat Rnds 1 through17 of Bottom Scoop
___ Rnd 18: in BLO, [sc in ea of nxt 3 sts, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 6 times  (24 sts)
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Top Scoop to Middle Scoop.



Finishing: with same color, Join with slst in any unworked loop - [ch-3, 4TRC in same st,  drop loop from hook, pick pick up 3rd ch from beg-ch3, pick up dropped loop and draw through first loop (like a slst), slst in nxt unworked loop, slst in nxt unworked loop, 4DC in nxt st, drop loop on hook, pick up first loop, grab last loop, (slst in nxt st ch-3, slst in 3rd ch from hook) 3 times ] repeat around or create your own pattern.
Finish off.  Secure and weave in tail to hide.



Fudge Drizzle:  (Make 1) 
with Coffee,
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st (6 sts)

___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [sc in nxt st, Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (18 sts)
___ Rnd 4: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st] 9 times  (27 sts)
___ Rnd 5:
(sc in nxt st, ch-9, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea of nxt 6 chs, hdc in nxt ch, sc in nxt st, ch-6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea of nxt 3 sts, hdc in nxt ch, sc in ea of nxt 3 sts) 5 times, sc in ea of nxt 2 sts
___ Rnd 6:  sc in ea st around - decreasing on both sides (where drips meet at Rnd) and increasing (2 sc in same st) at point of drip (the end of the 'chain').
Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Fudge Drizzle to Top Scoop.



Cherry:  (Make 1)
with Cherry Red, 
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in st (6 sts)
 ___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [sc in nxt st, Inc in nxt st] 6 times  (18 sts)
___ Rnds 4-5: sc in ea st around  (18 sts)
___ Rnd 6: in BLO, [sc in nxt st, Dec nxt 2 sts tog] 6 times  (12 sts)

Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure Cherry to Top Scoop on top of Fudge Drizzle.

Finishing:  

with Spring Green, 
Chain 6, slst in 2nd ch from hook and in ea of nxt 4 chs.
Secure Cherry Stem to top of Cherry.  Weave in tails to hide.

with Soft White,
Join with slst in any unworked loop of Rnd 5. ch-2, slst in same st, ch-2, slst in same st in ea uworked loop around.

Finish off, leaving sufficient tail to secure Whipped Cream to Top Scoop on top of Fudge Drizzle, if desired  (this will help to make the Cherry and Whipped Cream, less likely to be pulled off).


Cone:  (Make 1)
with Cone Color,
___ Rnd 1: Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 4 sc in st (4 sts)
___ Rnd 2: [Inc in nxt st, sc in nxt st] twice  (6 sts)
___ Rnd 3: [sc in nxt st, Inc in nxt st] 3 times  (9 sts)
___ Rnd 4: sc in ea st around  (9 sts)
___ Rnd 5: [sc in ea of nxt 2 sts, Inc in nxt st] 3 times  (12 sts)
___ Rnd 6: [sc in ea of nxt 5 sts, Inc in nxt st] twice  (14 sts)
___ Rnd 7: [sc in ea of nxt 6 sts, Inc in nxt st] twice  (16 sts)
___ Rnd 8: [sc in ea of nxt 7 sts, Inc in nxt st] twice  (18 sts)
___ Rnd 9: [sc in ea of nxt 5 sts, Inc in nxt st] 3 times  (21 sts)
___ Rnds 10-11: sc in ea st around  (21 sts/ea rnd)
___ Rnd 12: [sc in ea of nxt 6 sts, Inc in nxt st] 3 times  (24 sts)

Finish off, leaving sufficient tail remaining to secure cone to Bottom Scoop.
